While travelling to the Yoga Shala you should have enough time on hand for the entire mountain journey. If you wish to travel from Delhi directly to reach Uttarkashi it takes about 13 hours and you are required to halt at either Haridwar or Rishikesh and switch to bus or taxi to reach Uttarkashi. However, it is advisable to stay overnight at Haridwar or Rishikesh and then commence early morning to reach Netala.

 

From Delhi to Haridwar and Rishikesh -

You can travel by either bus or train to reach Rishikesh or Haridwar respectively. If you travel by Bus, you can look up for timings for Deluxe buses and Volvos for comfortable travel at Maharana Pratap ISBT (popularly known as Kashmere Gate Bus stand also) http://www.delhi.gov.in/wps/wcm/connect/doit_transport/Transport/Home/ISBT/Maharana+Pratap+ISBT

 

If you wish to travel by train, you can then book e-tickets via internet from http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ . The Dehradun Shatabdi Express no 12017 starts from New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) at 6:50 am and reaches Haridwar approx at 11:15 am. If you wish you can travel the same day or halt. If you can travel till Dehradun, the train reaches approx at 12:50pm and then take shared taxi or on bookings as per your convenience.

 

From Haridwar & Rishikesh to Uttarkashi-

It takes approximately 7-8 hours from Haridwar and 6-7 hours from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi.  There are few buses available to travel from Haridwar or Rishikesh to Uttarkashi before noon only. You can also travel in shared taxi from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi or book one for yourself as per your convenience. It is advisable to reach in daylight to Uttarkashi. The view is breathtaking and the route energy is blessed by views of Mother Ganga.

 

From Uttarkashi to Netala-

There are taxis available from Uttarkashi to Netala.

From Delhi to Dehradun-

You can also book your flight from Delhi to Dehradun ( Jolly Grant Airport ) and from Dehradun you can join in one of the shared Taxi form taxi stand.

 

However if you inform us prior to your visit we can arrange a Taxi pickup from Dehradun Airport to Netala.

 

Please Note:

Foreign Nationals are required and requested to travel to India with a valid Passport and  Visa. For all times, you are also advised to carry a photocopy of personal identification and keep the originals safe. The valid Visa to travel to India for Yoga Vacation and Himalayan Pilgrimage and Yoga Retreat is a tourist visa.

For Teacher Training Course, the Foreign Nationals are required to bring their original passport with a valid Visa for India.  The valid Visa is the student visa although entry ('x' type) visa is also acceptable. The recognition for issuance of Student Visa is still pending for Teacher Training Course (certification based course) from the Government. However till the time being a tourist visa is currently being accepted by the local authorities.

 

If you wish to travel to for a longer duration or visit  India weeks or months before commencement of course  please consult the Embassy of India or High Commission.
